  • Overview

    The Internal Communications Manager is a communications bridge from C-level corporate initiatives to the hearts and minds of the collective management organization. Serving as a strategic partner in the cross-channel delivery of messages from the offices of the CEO, HR, IT and Finance, the manager drives employee engagement and steers positive cultural shifts. This role requires strategic skills and a technical command of the internal communications scheme and enterprise solution offerings to influence and manage change as well as educate associates on organizational strategy. 


    • Primary owner of internal communications strategy and manager of internal department campaigns (and their measures of success) along the annual business activity calendar.
    • Channel manager of corporate intranet (SharePoint); management team news; content architecture, homepage design; help execute on the strategic vision for the platform while partnering with communications liaisons and technical SMEs across the business. 
    • Support key message development and presentation design for key internal meetings, including CEO Live Chat meetings, semi-annual leadership meetings, department meetings to ensure corporate messages are broadly understood.
    • Collaborate with team leaders throughout the organization to develop and coordinate delivery of internal communications across all communications channels including company intranet, email, social, CEO Blog and newsletters.
    • Oversee content and delivery of monthly digital newsletter to global management associates.
    • Along with communications, provide quality control of documents/messages produced by the organization, ensuring consistency of style, tone and grammar throughout all writing and editorial projects.
    • Understand and advise executive(s) regarding best use of the broad range of tools, processes and practices of internal communications and employee engagement.
    • Draft clear, credible and compelling communications in support of executive communications and corporate initiatives, and others, as appropriate for the respective channels.
    • Stay informed and aware of organizational operations and initiatives and identify areas where additional internal communication is needed (and serve as point of contact for suggestions from other associates) and develop a plan to meet those needs.
    • Provide input to internal communications budget and portfolio growth.
    • Support provided to the wider marketing teams as needed.
    • Act as content administrator for the corporate intranet.
    • Monitor trends in employee communications and enterprise social networks and applications, and appropriately bubble up learning for the development of a solid network of engaged YPO One Team brand ambassadors.

    • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team, including the ability to manage multiple projects effectively and at a fast pace in a deadline-driven
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a superb ability to solveEntrepreneurial spirit and facility for creative problem solving.
    • Knowledge of AP style.
    • Strong writing, editing, issue management, strategic planning, relationship-building, problem-solving and oral/written presentation skills.
    • Ability to work with C-suite and senior executives, and multiple stakeholders across a global company; ability to create executive-ready content for company and leadership meetings.
    • Be highly creative, innovative & resourceful. Have a passion for not only the process but the end results and driving business outcomes, as well.
    • Social media, engagement, community building experience.
    • Strategic and tactical communications experience.
    • Fluent English written and spoken.
    • Agency management experience.
    • Flexible, proactive and able to respond and adapt to a rapid-paced, changing organization.

    Experience/ Background

    • Minimum 4-7 years of experience in marketing, communications, either in agency or in-house, working with international audiences.
    • Highly motivated, driven, creative problem solver with demonstrated ability to work autonomously while adhering to approved plans and strategies.


    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, business, marketing or a related field required.
