    Position Title: YNG+ Community Manager

     

    Department: Family

     

    Reports to (Title): Family Programming Director

    POSITION PURPOSE
    The YPO family engagement team serves the whole YPO member by engaging his or her family and extending the YPO experience to spouses, partners and children aged 6 - 29. This position partners with YNGers (young adult children) and YPO/WPO members as co-creators; engages subject matter experts and collaborators and supports a truly unique community/learning space/career accelerator for the young adult (age 18-29) children of members. This position requires a unique blend of personas, including community engager, community platform manager, marketer & communicator and program manager.

    Responsibilities

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Act as the main ambassador to YNG+, engaging and activating participants and champions and encouraging conversations and connections throughout the YNG+ community.
    • Constantly look for new ways to bring the community closer; create grass-roots movements, within YNG+, encouraging participant-driven activation to shape the future of both the community and program offerings.
    • Shape the virtual community experience for YNG+ participants in alignment with the needs of the community.
    • Manage the day-to-day functionality of both the web and mobile YNG+ platforms and related platforms, from development to troubleshooting to website approvals to communications.
    • As the '"lead storyteller" of YNG+, develop and execute communication plans, write copy and launch social media campaigns; create branding suites and videos, support event and internships marketing to YNG+ and member stakeholders.
    • Work collaboratively with Family team and support YNG, YPO and YPO Gold champions to pilot and iterate on programming elements in alignment with YNG+ goals.

    Qualifications

    SKILLS

    • Business acumen, professionalism and emotional intelligence to communicate effectively in a multi-cultural, virtual work environment with high-profile corporate leaders.
    • Superior time management and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously across multiple time-zones.
    • Superior written, oral and interpersonal skills with the ability to synthesize and present information cogently to a global audience and meet tight deadlines.
    • Ability to create written content appropriate for diverse mediums.
    • Build trusting collaborative, supportive working relationships in an engaging environment. Capacity to think strategically while understanding and promoting process and execution. Enthusiastic support of new ideas coupled with the ability to see these ideas through.
    • Strong listening skills, with the ability to take what is heard and incorporate the ideas into programs.


    EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND

    • 3-5 years experience in 2 or more of the primary roles (community engager, platform manager, marketer & communicator and program manager), preferably in a highly collaborative environment. Experience in strategic planning, budget development and management.
    • Experience as a Global Citizen (living, working, schooling, etc., in a foreign country).


    EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION

    • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, organizational dynamics, project management, program management or equivalent experience required.
    • HTML, CSS and graphic design experience helpful.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to travel domestically or internationally (10%).
    • Adaptability and willingness to work flexible hours, to accommodate co-workers, YPO members and YPO+ members around the world.
