  • Overview

    YPO’s IT department is growing, and we are seeking a Director who can establish practices that enable successful transformation from legacy (self-hosted) platforms to a cloud based, microservice driven, serverless architecture that is built to scale. In this multi-faceted role, you will define platform/application architecture, instill best practices and lead the implementation of the new YPO Digital platform. You will also have the opportunity to mentor, lead and develop a dynamic team comprised of in-house employees, third-party consultants and offshore resources. 

    Responsibilities

    • Partnering with officers to build technical documentation. 
    • Assessing/Understanding the current application stack.
    • Leading the implementation of platform that provides a consistent member (user) experience thru various channels/mediums (Web, Mobile, IoT). 
    • Collaborates effectively with other stakeholders (e.g. Department Heads, Product Management).
    • Champions Integrated Development model through Orchestrated Engineering (DevOps, CI and CD) to enable to Continuous Delivery.
    • Owns the Enterprise Architecture and implementation / feature roadmap.
    • Partners with Product Portfolio and Finance teams on budget planning.
    • Defines and communicates the direction for all Digital Services team efforts, articulates accountabilities, and provides the resources needed enabling engineering team success.
    • Inspires an environment through Innovation and thought leadership where team members are motivated to realize and pursue potential.
    • Prioritizes team members’ work and ensures productivity in conjunction with the Scrum Master/Project Manager.
    • Provides the technical leadership to build and mentor a high-performing Digital Services organization.
    • Ensuring development teams adhere to software quality assurance standards, execute system test plans and validate business goals. 
    • Collaborating with Service Delivery teams to build a robust estimation model to help with adherence to Agile best practices.
    • Overseeing Digital Services policies, standards, and procedures for web/mobile development, code management, security, and data privacy
    • Providing updates to senior leadership, department leads and end-users
    • Assisting in building a scalable SRE (Site reliability team) for 24X7 support and establishing automated practices for scalability and reliability
    • Facilitating management of software releases, application patching and changes to production configurations.
    • Applying design principles across multiple problems / solutions to team members' assignments.            
    • Designing core shared services used by development teams, event-driven architecture, and AI/ML-based solutions.

    Qualifications

    • 15+ years progressive IT leadership experience (including executive level), with hands-on expertise in defining cloud architecture (Azure preferred) and architecting plans for hosting complex application workloads.
    • Capable of leveraging Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (AI) techniques in improving the solution and product to the customer.
    • Advanced knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL) to generate real-time insights and custom analytics.
    • Well-versed with relevant web services, mail, backup, and site reliability engineering.
    • Proven experience with Continuous Delivery / DevOps practices.
    • Knowledgeable in A/B and feature tag-based deployment / release mechanisms.
    • Proven experience in migrating a legacy (in-house) platform to a serverless cloud-based platform.
    • Skilled in managing globally-distributed teams in Agile environments.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (Master's degree preferred).
    • Agile practitioner with strong process and product development philosophy; DevOps practitioner that believes in the power of automation across the lifecycle.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels (including c-level member audience) and to write complex analytical documents, discussion papers etc.
