Overview

Position Purpose

Responsible for all risk management, investments, banking, global payment processing, contracts, and insurance aspects for YPO. The position also oversees the negotiation and contracts process for the organization.

Responsibilities

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Protect organizational assets by establishing and enforcing internal controls
• Research impact of new accounting pronouncements on YPO
• Negotiate contracts and deals as required
• Manage the Innovation Fund program ensuring properly submitted applications and timely communications, approvals, and reporting
• Manage global banking and investment relationships
• Manage intellectual property
• Maximize returns and limit risks by managing cash and investment balances daily
• Authorized representative for accurate payment processing on behalf of the organization
• Lead and manage the contracts administration team
• Review and approve all contracts executed by the organization
• Oversee the negotiation and contracting process for the organization
• Oversee the general liability insurance program

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure that finance team members understand and adhere to the board approved International Policies and Procedures.
• Work with the CFO on additional duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

SKILLS
• Analytical and logical orientation and ability to translate financial detail into useful management information for non-financial users
• Proven ability to write complex analytical documents and discussion papers that lead the reader to a conclusion or recommendation
• Excellent interpersonal skills and high level of integrity with all business relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels including a c-level member audience
• Excellent negotiation skills with complex deals and the proven ability to simplify processes and procedures
• Ability to be proactive in achieving desired outcomes and use influence to achieve results
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (particularly with Excel)
• Innovative and solutions oriented; Possess a natural curiosity and a good sense of humor

 

EXPERIENCE/BACKGROUND
• 10 years progressive financial/accounting experience
• 5 years experience in managerial roles
• 5 years plus experience negotiating and managing contracts in values up to multi-million dollars
• Financial, banking and contracting systems experience preferred
• International experience preferred

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING/CERTIFICATION
• College Degree in Finance, Accounting or Law (or equivalent experience)
• MBA Preferred
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Preferred

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Light travel < 5%
